The Istiqlal Party has suspended the membership of Achraf Oulad Abdellah, the president of the Beni Boufrah municipality in the Al Hoceima province, who also serves as a member of the provincial council and head of a permanent committee.

This decision was made during the latest meeting of the party’s Executive Committee, which also decided to refer Oulad Abdellah’s case to the newly established Ethics and Conduct Committee.

According to informed sources, the decision, signed by the party’s Secretary General Nizar Baraka, follows an article published by Oulad Abdellah on several news websites, where he made false accusations and tarnished the reputation of party leaders, particularly Nourddine Moudian, a prominent figure in the Tanger-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.

The sources also reported that Oulad Abdellah had engaged in suspicious activities within the province without consulting the party’s leadership at the local, regional, or central levels. He allegedly coordinated with other parties and gathered signatures from individuals unrelated to the party, especially in the Ketama, Beni Boufrah, and Issaken areas.

Given the extent of the violations and his disregard for party rules and regulations, the Executive Committee unanimously decided to sanction him for damaging the party’s image and its key figures. The provincial inspectorate called on the Executive Committee to dismiss him from the party and expel him from all party structures due to the legal and organizational violations he committed.

A detailed report, accompanied by documents, evidence, and testimonies from branch secretaries and affiliated organizations within the Al Hoceima province, was submitted by the provincial inspectorate. The report confirmed that Oulad Abdellah is unfit to remain in the party and should be removed from his positions despite his recent affiliation. The party had initially placed its trust in him to promote youth participation in politics, granting him membership in the national and provincial councils and the presidency of the Beni Boufrah municipality.
