The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts localized thunderstorms over the High and Middle Atlas mountains for today, Friday. Scattered rain is expected over the Atlantic plains north of Safi, the phosphate plateaus, Oulmes, Saïss, the inland Gharb, the Rif, the Mediterranean coast, and the eastern region. Fog patches will form over the central plains, northeast, and southwestern Sahara provinces, especially in the morning. Dust may spread locally in the south, with moderate to strong wind gusts expected along the Mediterranean coast and central and southern shores. Minimum temperatures will range from 3 to 10°C in the Atlas Mountains, 7 to 14°C in the Rif, other highlands, and eastern plateaus, 17 to 23°C in the southern provinces and near the coasts, and 13 to 19°C across the rest of the country. Maximum temperatures will rise in the Atlas and southeast while decreasing elsewhere. The sea will be slightly to moderately rough along the Mediterranean coast, Gibraltar Strait, and north of Larache, and rough along the rest of the coastline.
