German coach Hans Flick, leading Barcelona, expressed his immense joy after his team’s resounding 4-0 victory over rivals Real Madrid in the “Clasico” held at the Santiago Bernabéu, as part of the Spanish league.
In his statements to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Flick said: “Working here at Barcelona is a unique feeling, it’s an amazing job, and I am living the happiest days of my life at this club.”
He added: “We played an excellent game. I’m proud of the team’s performance, especially our goalkeeper Ignacio Peña, who shone and kept a clean sheet.”
Talking about the post-match atmosphere, Flick revealed: “The players celebrated with great joy in the locker room; it was an emotional moment seeing them so confident and happy.”
He also emphasized the importance of starting the match strongly: “We began with an audacious attacking style, taking risks with an advanced defense, but the players showed clear discipline and superiority in front of goal.”
Flick praised the team’s collective effort, stating: “Every player knew their role perfectly, whether in defense or attack. We have great confidence in ourselves, and we must continue on this path.”
He also highlighted the vital role the fans have played recently, noting: “The supporters were strongly behind us, and this victory is theirs too. We must celebrate this achievement together.”
With this win, Barcelona strengthens its lead in La Liga with 30 points, and they are gearing up to face Espanyol at the Luis Companys stadium next Sunday, aiming to extend their winning streak.
