French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau stated on Monday that President Emmanuel Macron’s visit to Morocco marks a continued commitment to the long-standing friendship between Rabat and Paris.
Speaking to the press after the signing ceremony of several agreements between Morocco and France, presided over by King Mohammed VI and President Macron, Retailleau expressed his delight at being part of the delegation accompanying the President on this trip.
The minister highlighted that these agreements will further strengthen the ties between the two nations in the coming months and years.
He explained, « I signed two significant agreements. The first is a declaration of intent to enhance cooperation in civil protection, which will allow us to deepen relations and exchanges on key issues. »
The second agreement focuses on cooperation in combating fires in natural spaces, particularly through the use of firefighting aircraft and aerial techniques to fight forest fires. « We will make great strides, and because we are friends, nothing is impossible, » the minister concluded.
