Casablanca Stock Exchange Opens the Day with a Slight Decline

The Casablanca Stock Exchange started its trading session on Wednesday with a minor decline. Its main index, MASI, dropped by 0.05%, settling at 14,240.65 points.

The MASI.20 index, which reflects the performance of the top 20 listed companies, posted a loss of 0.12%, reaching 1,146.43 points. Meanwhile, the MASI.ESG index, which tracks companies with the highest ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings, fell by 0.02%, ending at 1,019.25 points.

On the other hand, the MASI Mid and Small Cap index, representing small and medium-sized listed companies, recorded a slight gain of 0.01%, closing at 1,394.43 points.

Regarding individual stocks, the biggest declines were seen with Delta Holding (-3.21% to 52.75 MAD), Stokvis North Africa (-2.67% to 14.6 MAD), SNEP (-2.06% to 470.05 MAD), Sonasid (-1.74% to 824.4 MAD), and Bank of Africa (-1.28% to 185.1 MAD).

Conversely, the highest gains were posted by Crédit du Maroc (+9.8% to 1,076 MAD), Moroccan Beverages Company (+5.04% to 2,438 MAD), Résidences Dar Saada (+2.67% to 79.3 MAD), The Maghrebian Monetics Company (+2.67% to 79.3 MAD), and Med Paper (+2.34% to 20.95 MAD).

On Tuesday, the MASI had closed the session with a 0.25% increase.
