President-elect Donald Trump announced Thursday the appointment of his campaign manager, Susie Wiles, as White House Chief of Staff. Wiles, aged 67, will be the first woman in U.S. history to assume this prestigious role.
In a statement, Trump praised Wiles’ crucial contributions, saying, “Susie Wiles helped me secure one of the greatest political victories in American history and played an essential role in my successful 2016 and 2020 campaigns.”
A long-standing member of the Republican Party, Wiles, originally from New Jersey, is recognized for her electoral campaign expertise. She began her career with Ronald Reagan’s campaign in the 1980s and has since served as advisor or campaign team member for multiple political figures.
In 2016, she coordinated Trump’s Florida campaign, and in 2021, she was appointed director of the Save America political action committee. Since January 2023, she has overseen Trump’s electoral campaign as his chief political advisor.
As Chief of Staff, Wiles will play a pivotal role in shaping the new administration, which will manage American policies over the next four years. Donald Trump’s second term inauguration is scheduled for January 20, 2025.
