The European Commission has fined Meta €798 million for breaching EU antitrust rules. The tech giant allegedly abused its market dominance by linking Facebook Marketplace to its social network and imposing unfair terms on other online ad service providers.
The investigation began in June 2021, with formal charges issued in December 2022. Meta responded to the allegations in June 2023.
