The police prefecture of Tangier announced that the total quantity of psychotropic substances seized this Saturday at the Tanger Med port amounts to 188,102 pills, including ecstasy and prescription psychotropic drugs.
Border inspection procedures, aided by police dogs, initially uncovered 155,703 ecstasy pills hidden within secret compartments of a truck’s structure. The truck was arriving from a European country.
Further inspections revealed additional batches of psychotropic substances carefully hidden in the refrigerated engine compartment of the trailer, bringing the total seized to 188,102 pills.
The truck driver and his companion, both Moroccan nationals aged 41 and 44, were arrested. They are currently under judicial investigation, as ordered by the public prosecutor, to uncover the national and international connections of this criminal operation.
