From November 18 to 20, 2024, the regions of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur will host the Mediterranean Forum on Energy and Climate Transition in Marseille. This event is part of the « Local Energy and Climate Service (SLEC): A Tool for Energy and Climate Transition in Integrated Urban Development. »
Notable attendees Among the prominent figures attending are Mr. Toufiq El Bourch, Vice President of Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region, Mr. Genzana Bruno, Vice President of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, and Ms. Manal Layouchi, Deputy Consul General of Morocco in Marseille.
A diverse representation Morocco will be represented by a delegation that includes officials from eight municipalities benefiting from the SLEC project, regional administrative representatives, and delegations from Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, Nouakchott, and project partners.
Focused on innovation and collaboration The forum aims to enhance multi-level cooperation and propose innovative solutions for green economy development and urban governance under the SLEC project framework.
Comprehensive activities The event will feature two plenary sessions, workshops, a roundtable, sustainable building tours, and meetings of the Steering (COPIL) and Technical (COTECH) Committees. Participants will also exchange best practices and develop actionable strategies.
A project for resilient cities Co-funded by the European Union, the SLEC project aims to strengthen urban management, improve city resilience to climate challenges, foster social inclusion, and support innovation and prosperity across eight municipalities: Tangier, Tétouan, Ouezzane, Al Hoceïma, Chefchaouen, Ksar El Kébir, Melloussa, and M’diq.
