On Thursday, November 21, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) announced several new appointments to leadership roles in various cities, including Tetouan, Casablanca, Fez, Ksar El Kebir, Salé, Sidi Yahya El Gharb, and Agadir. This move is part of an internal strategy to inject fresh energy and leverage the expertise of young, experienced security officials to ensure public safety and protect citizens’ property.
These appointments, approved by the DGSN’s Director General Abdellatif Hammouchi, include ten new leadership positions. Among them are the appointment of a police commissioner in Ksar El Kebir, two deputies to district chiefs in Fez, and four heads of police units in Tetouan and Casablanca.
Additionally, the reshuffle includes placing senior officials in decentralized security units, such as the head of an administrative annex in Salé, a chief of the tourism police in Agadir, and the head of urban security at the Sidi Yahya El Gharb police station.
The selection criteria for these positions emphasize high professionalism, integrity, and practical experience to effectively implement a modern security strategy. This strategy aims to enhance citizens’ sense of safety, improve police services, strengthen communication efforts, and foster closer community engagement.
