Casablanca Stock Exchange Starts Friday with a Decline

The Casablanca Stock Exchange began its Friday trading session in negative territory, with its main index, MASI, dropping by 0.15% to settle at 14,845.37 points.

A few minutes into the session:

  • The MASI.20 index, representing the performance of the top 20 listed companies, fell by 0.19% to 1,205.27 points.

  • The MASI.ESG index, tracking companies with the best ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) ratings, increased by 0.07% to 1,063.17 points.

  • The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, measuring the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises, rose by 0.24% to 1,447.68 points.

Declining Stocks:

The biggest losers were:

  • Involys (-4.59% at MAD 97.27),

  • Société Maghrébine de Monétique (-4.4% at MAD 245.6),

  • Stokvis Nord Afrique (-2.53% at MAD 15.4),

  • Banque de Maroc (-2.15% at MAD 1,002),

  • Sothema (-2.08% at MAD 930.2).

Advancing Stocks:

The top gainers included:

  • Société des Réalisations Mécaniques (+7.91% at MAD 450),

  • Maghreb Oxygène (+6.62% at MAD 240),

  • AtlantaSanad (+4.35% at MAD 132),

  • Med Paper (+2.22% at MAD 20.70),

  • Afma (+1.88% at MAD 1,138).

On Thursday, the MASI index ended the day with a significant 0.79% decline.
