The administration of Kénitra’s local prison has refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the alleged « massive spread of lice and unknown insects among inmates. »
In an official statement, the administration emphasized that these allegations are baseless. It affirmed its ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness in the prison cells and to provide all inmates, including new arrivals, with personal hygiene products.
The statement also noted that no complaints have been received about this issue from inmates or their families. Accommodation areas are regularly inspected by prison staff, and no unusual insect presence has been detected.
Furthermore, a recent surprise inspection by a central committee found no evidence of insect infestations within the inmate housing facilities.
