Classified tourist accommodations in Marrakech recorded a 12% increase in overnight stays during the first nine months of this year.
According to September statistics from the Tourism Observatory, the total number of overnight stays in the Red City reached 7.43 million by the end of September 2024, compared to 6.62 million during the same period in 2023.
The same source highlighted that the occupancy rate in these establishments rose to 70% during the first nine months of 2024, compared to 66% for the same period in 2023.
For September alone, overnight stays surged by 53%, reaching 905,008, compared to 590,778 in September 2023. The occupancy rate for the month also climbed to 77%, up from 56% in the previous year.
On a national level, classified tourist accommodations recorded 21.35 million overnight stays during the first nine months of this year, marking a 10% increase compared to the same period in 2023. In September alone, a 31% rise in overnight stays was reported compared to September last year.
