2025 Finance Bill Approved by the Council of Advisors
The Council of Advisors approved, by majority, the first part of Finance Bill No. 60.24 for the fiscal year 2025 during a public session held on Thursday. The session was attended by Fouzi Lakjaa, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget.
The first part was supported by 48 parliamentary advisors, opposed by 7, and 9 abstained.
Of the 231 proposed amendments, 66 were accepted, 55 rejected, and 110 withdrawn. The majority of amendments focused on taxation (177), customs (27), and other various areas (27).
The minister highlighted an allocation exceeding 100 billion MAD for social initiatives, including healthcare, direct social support, and housing. About 10% of the GDP was earmarked for aiding vulnerable and middle-income groups.
Social dialogue received 45 billion MAD, resulting in significant salary increases:

3800 MAD for doctors.

3000 MAD for higher education professors.

Between 1500 and 4800 MAD for education ministry employees.
