Starting May 25, 2025, a direct flight route connecting Tangier to Copenhagen will launch, following an agreement between the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) and Norwegian Airlines.
According to the ONMT, this partnership is part of broader efforts to strengthen air transport and attract more tourists to Morocco’s diverse destinations.
The statement highlights that a weekly flight is planned, marking a first for Tangier, now directly linked to a strategic Scandinavian hub. Copenhagen is a key airport for Norwegian Airlines, serving Northern Europe and the Baltic region.
Beyond this new route, the agreement aims to convert seasonal routes—previously limited to winter—into year-round services, such as the Marrakech-Oslo route. So far, Marrakech and Agadir have been the primary destinations for Northern European tourists.
This initiative underscores the increasing interest from Northern European markets, supported by strategic agreements between ONMT and major airlines like Norwegian, SAS, Air Baltic, and Flyplay.
Through this expansion, ONMT continues its ambitious « Light in Action » strategy to enhance Morocco’s air connectivity and position Tangier as a major player in global tourism.
