The Minister of Culture, Youth, and Communication, Mehdi Bensaid, announced on Monday at the House of Representatives that local and regional press enterprises will receive regional support in coordination with regional councils.
During a public oral questions session, Bensaid stated, « The ministry is working with regional councils on a project to provide support for professional regional and local press enterprises that cannot meet the conditions required for the national support provided by the ministry. »
He emphasized that « this project will include joint funding between the ministry and the regional councils, aimed at supporting regional and provincial press enterprises. »
The minister added that this approach seeks to bring order to the press sector while establishing specific criteria, without requiring these enterprises to adhere to the strict conditions for national public support.
