Police officers at the Tangier Med Port arrested a 20-year-old Danish citizen late Thursday night. The individual was wanted under an international arrest warrant issued by Danish judicial authorities for alleged involvement in an attempted premeditated murder.
A security source reported that the suspect was apprehended while preparing to board a ferry heading to a Spanish port. Checks in the Interpol database revealed that he was listed under a red notice at the request of his home country’s judicial authorities.
Preliminary investigations suggest the suspect was involved in a criminal gang that planned multiple attacks and murders using firearms.
The suspect has been placed in custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor to uncover all circumstances and details surrounding the case, as well as to determine the full extent of the criminal activities attributed to him.
This arrest is part of ongoing international security cooperation and Moroccan efforts to track down individuals wanted globally for transnational crimes.
