Restoring Global Peace: A Call for International Law Compliance
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Rachid Talbi El Alami, emphasized on Tuesday in Rabat that the challenge of restoring peace, which has been lost in many parts of the world due to wars and armed conflicts, requires adherence to international law and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign nations.
Speaking at the opening of the « Conference of the Future », organized by the Moroccan Parliament and Chilean representatives, Mr. Talbi El Alami stressed the adoption of democracy as a governance model. He called for a crisis prevention strategy in a world marked by shifting alliances.
He highlighted the importance of investing in education, training, and reading to shield youth from the negative uses of modern technologies.
Mr. Talbi El Alami urged Northern countries to recognize that their future is interlinked with that of the Global South. He criticized imbalanced globalization, advocating for a win-win approach and shared technological advances.
Regarding climate challenges, he emphasized the need for climate justice for Africa and Latin America, ensuring equitable access to green technologies and funding.
Under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, Morocco remains a key player in promoting sustainable development and global peace, as demonstrated by its initiatives across Africa.
