Nearly 4 Tons of Cannabis Seized in Beni Mellal

Law enforcement officers from Beni Mellal’s judicial police department, in close collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), successfully foiled an international drug trafficking operation involving 3.96 tons of cannabis resin in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

A security source stated that this operation took place on a farm in a rural area near the city of Souk Sebt Oulad Nemma. The intervention led to the arrest of a 35-year-old suspect, the seizure of the drug shipment stored in a warehouse on the premises, as well as the confiscation of two cargo vehicles and an amount of cash suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking.

The detained individual has been placed in custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. Meanwhile, investigations are ongoing to apprehend other individuals involved, whose identities have already been fully established.
