On Wednesday in Rabat, a framework partnership agreement was signed between the Supreme Council of Judicial Authority (CSPJ) and the Higher Institute of Information and Communication (ISIC). This agreement focuses on specialized ongoing training, expert consultations, and joint events.

Signed by Mohamed Abdennabaoui, Deputy President of the CSPJ, and Abdelatif Bensafia, Director of ISIC, the agreement establishes a comprehensive framework to enhance the communication skills of court spokespersons and deepen legal knowledge among journalism students and professionals. The initiative includes nationwide training sessions to equip judges with essential skills in press release drafting, media interaction, and managing social and digital media. ISIC will also introduce specialized streams for judges and council staff while hosting joint scientific events.

In his remarks, Mr. Abdennabaoui emphasized the need to provide accurate information to the public, particularly on judicial matters of public interest, while safeguarding personal data and professional confidentiality. He noted that a 2023 organic law established the position of court spokesperson to ensure better communication with the media and inform citizens.

Mr. Bensafia highlighted that opening courts to public communication represents a bold step toward transparency and access to judicial information. ISIC will support judges in mastering communication techniques and enhance journalists’ training for a better understanding of judicial processes.
