Spain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, declared on Wednesday that Morocco and Spain are currently experiencing “their best moment in bilateral relations.”
Speaking before the Spanish Congress of Deputies, Albares emphasized that “our relations with Morocco are vital and mutually beneficial for both countries.” He reiterated the critical role of security cooperation between the two nations in combating human trafficking networks and dismantling terrorist cells.
The Spanish Foreign Minister highlighted the positive results of the roadmap agreed upon by Morocco and Spain, describing it as “completely beneficial” for both sides. He also praised the excellent economic ties between the two countries, noting that Morocco is one of Spain’s key trading partners.
In 2023, trade between the two nations exceeded €21 billion. Currently, approximately 17,000 Spanish companies export their products to Morocco, and over 4,000 Spanish companies have established a presence in the kingdom.
