The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestinian Territories, preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, expressed gratitude yesterday in Ramallah for Morocco’s unwavering support, led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to bolster the resilience and steadfastness of the Palestinian people.

During his meeting with Morocco’s Ambassador to Palestine, Abdel Rahim Meziane, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein praised the Kingdom of Morocco – its king, government, and people – for backing the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. He also highlighted the strong bonds between the Palestinian and Moroccan peoples.

According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein reviewed the difficult conditions faced by Palestinians, especially in Jerusalem and its holy sites. He condemned the violations against Al-Aqsa Mosque and urged the international community to take action to stop the attacks on Palestinians.

Ambassador Meziane reaffirmed that Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, will continue to support the Palestinian people. He pointed to Morocco’s efforts to mediate a ceasefire in Gaza and deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and Jerusalem.

The Ambassador also emphasized the continuous role of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, directed by His Majesty, in supporting the resilience of Jerusalem’s residents. The agency works in areas such as health, education, historic preservation, and social projects targeting children and youth in Jerusalem.

Additionally, the Ambassador expressed his aspiration to strengthen cooperation between Palestinian religious institutions, including Dar Al-Ifta, and their Moroccan counterparts to uphold the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque and preserve the religious landmarks of Jerusalem.
