Arrest of a Suspect Involved in a Violent Incident in Casablanca
The judicial police brigade of the Aïn Sebaâ – Hay Mohammadi district in Casablanca, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, arrested on Sunday evening the suspect involved in a deliberate assault by ramming a vehicle. This incident also caused material damage to the glass front of a fast-food outlet.
According to a police source, the suspect, aged 31 and with a criminal record, was wanted nationwide for two cases related to the illicit trafficking of drugs and psychotropic substances.
Preliminary investigation reports indicate that the suspect, driving a rental car, got into a dispute with employees of the fast-food establishment in Aïn Sebaâ. The disagreement arose from an obstruction in the area designated for drive-through customers. In retaliation, the suspect allegedly injured four employees by deliberately hitting them with his car and caused significant damage to the restaurant’s glass facade.
Investigations led to the identification and arrest of the suspect in another vehicle after abandoning the rental car used in the crime. Upon his arrest, authorities seized 44 doses of a drug known as “Pofa,” pieces of cannabis resin (“chira”), and a sum of money suspected to be proceeds from drug trafficking.
The suspect has been placed in custody under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the circumstances and motives behind this criminal act.
