Government Council Meeting Scheduled for Next Thursday
Next Thursday, the Government Council will convene under the chairmanship of Aziz Akhannouch, Head of Government.
According to a statement from the Government Presidency, the meeting will begin with the review of four draft decrees:
- Special leave for judges: defining the list of illnesses entitling them to medium- and long-term sick leaves.
- Amendments to continuous training allowances: revising the conditions for granting allowances to employees supervising and conducting continuous training for the staff of the Ministry of National Education.
- Minimum wage revision: setting the legal minimum wage amounts for agricultural and non-agricultural activities.
- VAT and taxation adjustments: amending the decree on the application of value-added tax as outlined in the General Tax Code.
The Council will then study two international agreements:
- An agreement with Chad to prevent double taxation and tax evasion, signed in Dakhla on August 14, 2024.
- A social security agreement with South Korea, signed in Seoul on June 2, 2024. Two draft laws for approving these agreements will also be presented.
Finally, the Council will wrap up its proceedings by considering proposals for senior appointments, in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution, followed by a special session to review certain proposed laws.
