Severe Sentences in the “Al-Khayr Group” Case in Tangier
The Criminal Chamber of Tangier’s Court of First Instance issued its verdict on the “Al-Khayr Group” case late Tuesday/early Wednesday. The defendants received a total of 71 years in prison.
The group’s president and director, along with three other defendants, were sentenced to five years in prison each.
Eight women involved in the case were sentenced to four years in prison each, while five other defendants received three-year prison sentences. One accused received a two-year prison sentence, and three others were sentenced to one year each.
Additionally, one individual was sentenced to three months in prison, while two others received suspended sentences.
Most of the defendants were also fined 5,000 dirhams. Regarding the civil lawsuit, the court has not yet issued its rulings due to the large number of plaintiffs, estimated between 1,100 and 1,200 individuals.
