Regional Handicraft Exhibition Opens in Biougra
On Tuesday evening, the city of Biougra hosted the opening of the regional handicraft exhibition of Chtouka Aït Baha, under the theme: “Crafts and Creativity at the Heart of Chtouka Aït Baha.”
Over 60 artisans from the province of Chtouka Aït Baha are participating in this event, alongside representatives from other provinces in the Souss-Massa region and several national handicraft chambers as guests of honor.
The exhibition showcases various crafts, including leatherwork, traditional sewing, pottery, artistic woodworking, wood carving, carpet weaving, silver jewelry, plant-based products, artistic blacksmithing, and decorative art.
A special section is dedicated to local products, supporting the social and solidarity-based economy.
This event aims to promote local artisanal products, create marketing opportunities for artisans, improve their income, and enhance their social conditions, especially in rural areas.
In a statement to the Moroccan Press Agency (MAP), Abdelhak Arkhaoui, president of the Souss-Massa Handicraft Chamber, highlighted that this event provides artisans with an ideal platform to showcase their products, demonstrate their skills, and connect with new clients.
He also noted that the exhibition serves as a space for exchanging experiences among exhibitors and a chance to boost the marketing of artisanal products from Chtouka Aït Baha.
This event, running until January 12, is organized within the framework of a partnership between the Souss-Massa Handicraft Chamber, the Wilaya, the Souss-Massa region, and the Regional Directorate of Handicraft and Social and Solidarity Economy in Agadir. It also celebrates the Amazigh New Year 2975.
