Signing of Three Partnership Agreements for the Development of the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma Region
On Wednesday, January 8, three partnership agreements were signed to enhance and develop rural and urban centers in the Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceïma region.
Fatima-Zahra Mansouri, Minister of National Land Use Planning, Urbanism, Housing, and City Policy, along with Younes Tazi, Governor of the region, and Omar Moro, President of the Regional Council, signed a framework agreement for the rural center rehabilitation program for 2025-2027, with a budget of 420 million MAD, of which 210 million MAD is funded by the Regional Council. Another agreement focuses on financing the rehabilitation of 26 rural centers across the region’s provinces.
Additionally, a partnership and funding agreement was signed for the integrated development program of the emerging center of Zoumi in the Ouezzane province for 2025-2026. This project has a budget of 78 million MAD, with the Regional Council contributing 24 million MAD.
The signing ceremonies were attended by Adib Benbrahim, Secretary of State for Housing, several vice-presidents of the Regional Council, as well as local officials and parliamentarians of the region.
On the sidelines of the event, a visit to the Hafa neighborhood in Tanger showcased the progress of the rehabilitation program as part of the old medina’s valorization project. This initiative, funded with 850 million MAD, also includes the rehabilitation of under-equipped neighborhoods at the city’s entrance along the high-speed rail line. The budget for this project is estimated at 50 million MAD, with the Regional Council contributing 15 million MAD.
