The president of the Moroccan Association of Liquefied Gas Distributors, Mohamed Benjelloun, announced in a media statement that there will be no price increase for butane gas in January 2025. However, according to the 2025 Finance Bill, the government plans to continue subsidizing essential goods, including butane gas, refined sugar, and national soft wheat flour.

A budget of 16.5 billion dirhams has been allocated for these subsidies under the Compensation Fund. Despite this, analysts anticipate a price increase of 10 dirhams per large gas cylinder, raising its cost to 60 dirhams from the current 50 dirhams.

This hike, outlined in the 2025 Finance Bill, is expected to be followed by another 10-dirham increase in 2026, bringing the cylinder price to 70 dirhams. This would represent a total increase of 30 dirhams by 2026.
