French Citizen Wanted Internationally Arrested in Marrakech
Police forces in Marrakech, in coordination with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested an international fugitive this Friday evening. The operation was conducted following an international arrest warrant issued by French judicial authorities.
According to a police source, the arrested individual is a 25-year-old French national who was residing illegally in Morocco. He was apprehended in possession of a passport suspected to be forged.
A check of the suspect’s details in the Interpol database revealed that he was wanted under a red notice issued by the National Central Bureau in Paris for serving a prison sentence related to an attempted murder case.
The suspect has been placed in police custody under the supervision of the Public Prosecution Office, and procedures are currently underway to notify the French authorities of his arrest through international security cooperation channels.
This arrest underscores Morocco’s commitment to enhancing international security cooperation, particularly in pursuing and apprehending individuals wanted for transnational crimes.
