High-Level Morocco-Spain Security Meeting
The Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Mr. Abdellatif Hammouchi, received the Spanish General Commissioner of Intelligence, Mr. Javier Antonio Sanz Pérez, in Rabat on Wednesday, January 15. He was accompanied by a high-ranking delegation on this official visit.
This visit carries great significance as the newly appointed Spanish commissioner selected Morocco as his first international destination, aiming to strengthen bilateral relations in combating terrorism and violent extremism.
The talks focused on evaluating terrorist risks globally, particularly in the Sahel and Sahara regions, and enhancing joint operations in counter-terrorism.
A major topic included collaborative security efforts for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted jointly by Morocco, Spain, and Portugal.
The Spanish commissioner praised the exceptional partnership with Moroccan intelligence services, acknowledging the crucial role of Moroccan intelligence in thwarting terrorist plots in Spain.
