On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump signed approximately 50 executive orders aimed at implementing new policies and overturning certain measures introduced by his predecessor, Joe Biden. One of the most notable decisions was the withdrawal of the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement.

Trump had repeatedly pledged during his campaign to exit the agreement, which he described as “unfair and one-sided,” adding, “We will not hinder our industries.”

Earlier in the day, following his inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, Trump signed a letter notifying the United Nations Secretary-General of this decision.

The first executive order signed by the new White House occupant annulled 78 executive actions, presidential orders, memoranda, and other documents issued by Joe Biden.

Additionally, Trump issued an order freezing public sector hiring, excluding the military, and rescinded remote work policies for government employees.

Among other directives, one order mandates all government agencies and departments to cease “censorship of free speech.” Another aims to prevent the “abuse” of government authority against political opponents.

Furthermore, media reports revealed that Trump committed to signing emergency orders concerning the border with Mexico, including resuming construction of a wall along the border.

These measures also include reinstating the “Remain in Mexico” policy, which requires asylum seekers to stay in their country of origin or transit while awaiting a U.S. court decision, and revoking birthright citizenship for children born on U.S. soil to undocumented parents.
