Tinghir’s Regional Committee Takes Proactive Measures Against Harsh Winter Conditions
The Regional Vigilance and Monitoring Committee in Tinghir convened last Monday to review preemptive measures implemented by local authorities and decentralized services. These actions aim to assist residents affected by severe cold waves during this winter season.
Chaired by Tinghir’s governor, Ismaïl Heikal, with the attendance of regional and security authorities, the meeting highlighted initiatives under the national plan to mitigate the effects of cold waves. The governor emphasized the need for coordinated efforts among authorities and stakeholders to provide tailored support to communities facing harsh winter conditions, aligning with the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The regional plan targets over 4,800 families and 80 villages in mountainous areas. Specific measures include the distribution of firewood, blankets, and essential supplies, as well as organizing medical caravans to bring healthcare services closer to remote areas. Specialized medical teams are providing services such as ophthalmology, gynecology, and diagnostic imaging.
