Moroccan Teams Participate in the Coastal Tour in Mauritania
The Moroccan continental teams, « Agadir Velo Propolsion » and « Sidi Ali Unlock, » are competing in the fifth edition of the Coastal Tour cycling event, held in Mauritania from January 22 to 26.
According to a statement from the Royal Moroccan Cycling Federation, the two teams feature some of the best national cyclists. The « Sidi Ali Unlock » team, led by Hamza Ait Oufkir, includes riders Tarik Chaoufi, Anas Ait El Abdia, Elias Sakini, Saad Ait Agbour, and Rahil Zohair. Meanwhile, « Agadir Velo Propolsion » consists of Lahcen Sabbahi, Kamal El Mahrouk, Hicham Bnouza, Ibrahim Sabbahi, and Idriss El Alouani, under the supervision of Driss Elmi Mrani.
This international tour, registered on the Union Cycliste Internationale calendar (category 2.2), will take place over five stages, covering a total distance of more than 460 kilometers.
In addition to the two Moroccan teams, national teams and clubs from countries such as Tunisia, Senegal, Algeria, Benin, Rwanda, Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Germany, and two teams from the host country, Mauritania, will also participate.
This event comes just two days before the Moroccan national team’s participation in the 10th edition of the Sharjah International Tour, set to begin on Thursday, January 25.
It is worth noting that Morocco emerged victorious in the fourth edition of the Coastal Tour in 2023, claiming both the individual and team general classifications.
