Hakim Ziyech Officially Joins Al-Nasr Club

UAE’s Al-Nasr club has finalized an agreement with Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech, currently playing for Galatasaray in Turkey and formerly with Chelsea in England. The move, completed during the current winter transfer window, is a free transfer. Ziyech will replace his fellow Moroccan Adel Taarabt, who recently joined Sharjah.

According to Emirati media, Hakim Ziyech is expected to arrive in Dubai either today or tomorrow for his medical examination.

The newspaper “Al-Anbaa” reported that Al-Nasr reached a final agreement with the player after intense negotiations involving his current club. Ziyech was also targeted by several European clubs, including Lille, and other Gulf teams.

Negotiations between Al-Nasr and Ziyech began following the departure of Adel Taarabt last week. The presence of Dutch coach Alfred Schreuder, who previously coached Ziyech at Twente between 2014 and 2015, facilitated the transfer due to their ongoing friendly relationship.

Ziyech joined Galatasaray on loan in 2023 before making the move permanent in July 2024. However, his time at the Turkish club was marred by recurring injuries, limiting his appearances significantly.

This season, Ziyech has only played 11 matches, including five in the Turkish league and three in the Europa League.
