Counterterrorism Operations Follow a Strict Security Protocol
Boubker Sabik, spokesperson for the National Security Services and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, stated this Thursday in Salé that counterterrorism operations adhere to a strict security protocol.
During a press conference held by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations (BCIJ), Sabik explained that every intervention is based on available intelligence and coordinated with the BCIJ and special forces. The goal is to neutralize any terrorist threat, protect citizens and their property, as well as ensure the safety of police officers involved in the operation.
He emphasized that all operations following this protocol have resulted in zero casualties among intervention forces. If necessary, the protocol level can be heightened in response to increasing threats.
Regarding the recent dismantling of a terrorist cell in Had Soualem, Sabik noted that significant challenges were faced, particularly the presence of explosives and intelligence confirming that the terrorists had conducted experimental tests. Specialized police dogs and elite snipers positioned on a helicopter were deployed.
Sabik highlighted that terrorist cells are shifting to rural areas, believing they can evade security surveillance. He also warned that ISIS remains active in regions such as West Africa and the Sahel, leveraging cyberspace to spread its ideology.
Finally, he cautioned against misinformation campaigns aimed at discrediting security forces, stressing the crucial role of media in countering these narratives and informing the public.
