Spain Reaffirms the Importance of Security Cooperation with Morocco

Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska reaffirmed this Friday the significance of cooperation between Spain and Morocco in the field of security, emphasizing its « essential » role in combating organized crime and drug trafficking.

In an interview with Canal Sur, on the sidelines of the fifth ministerial meeting of the Alliance of European Countries Against Organized Crime held in Cádiz, Mr. Grande-Marlaska praised the « outstanding coordination » between Morocco and Spain, highlighting its direct impact on efforts to combat criminal networks.

He described Morocco as a « strategic and reliable partner » with whom Spain maintains close security cooperation, particularly in the fight against drug trafficking and cross-border crime.

The minister further noted that the progress made in these areas is the result of close collaboration and continuous coordination between the authorities of both countries. He emphasized that this partnership actively contributes to the stability and security of both sides of the Mediterranean.
