Investigations following the dismantling of a terrorist cell affiliated with the African branch of ISIS on Wednesday led to the seizure of an additional explosive device under construction. The device consists of a gas cylinder connected to tubes and electrical wires.

According to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security and the Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, the newly discovered device was found in a deserted area of the Sidi Al Arabi subdivision in Ain Aouda, on the outskirts of Rabat. It had been buried under piles of soil by the arrested members of this cell in the city of Tamesna.

The Central Bureau of Judicial Investigations deployed excavation equipment to recover the explosive components, which have been inventoried and sealed as part of this case.
