Dutch Citizen of Turkish Origin Arrested at Mohammed V Airport

Police officers at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca arrested a Dutch citizen of Turkish origin on Thursday. He was the subject of an international arrest warrant issued by the Dutch judicial authorities for suspected involvement in illegal arms trafficking.
According to a security source, the suspect was apprehended upon arrival from a flight from Istanbul Airport. A database check with Interpol confirmed that he was internationally wanted for possession and trafficking of firearms.
The suspect has been placed in custody pending extradition proceedings, while the Dutch authorities have been notified to submit the extradition file.
This arrest is part of international security cooperation efforts and the Moroccan security services’ commitment to apprehending internationally wanted criminals involved in transnational crimes.
