Health Crisis in Al Hoceïma : Severe Shortage of Medical Specialists

The residents of Al Hoceïma province are experiencing a severe health crisis due to a significant shortage of medical staff at the Mohammed VI Regional Hospital. This deficiency particularly affects crucial specialties such as pediatric orthopedic surgery, radiology, and cardiology.
As a result, many patients, especially children, are forced to travel long distances to hospitals in Tétouan, Tangier, or Fès to receive treatment, even for basic emergency care.
A father from Tamasint shares his ordeal: he had to take his son to a hospital in Tétouan for treatment. After a long wait, he was given a new appointment on March 19, forcing him to travel once again and bear the financial burden of transportation and accommodation.
This issue is not isolated but affects many families in Tamasint, Aït Bouayach, Imzouren, Boukidan, and Al Hoceïma.
The absence of specialists in pediatric surgery, radiology, and cardiology at the Mohammed VI Regional Hospital exacerbates the suffering of patients and their families. Between enduring pain and high travel expenses, residents find themselves trapped in an endless cycle of hardship.
Outraged by the situation, the population is calling on the authorities to urgently provide sufficient medical staff and improve healthcare services in the region. People are hoping for quick solutions to ease their suffering and ensure proper access to medical care.
