Algerian Military Fighter Jet Crashes During Training

The Algerian Ministry of Defense announced on Wednesday morning that a military fighter jet crashed during a training mission in the Adrar province, southwest of the country, resulting in the tragic death of its pilot.
Following the accident, Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian National Army, ordered an investigation to determine the reasons and circumstances surrounding the crash.
According to an official statement from the ministry, the accident occurred on the morning of March 19, 2025, near the Ouled region in Adrar, within the jurisdiction of the Third Military Region. The crash led to the death of Lieutenant Colonel Bakkouche Nasr.
General Chanegriha extended his deepest condolences to the pilot’s family and loved ones, stating:
“In this moment of grief, I extend, on my behalf and on behalf of all members of the National People’s Army, my sincerest condolences and sympathies to the family of the martyr. May Almighty God grant them patience and strength and welcome the deceased in His infinite mercy.”
