Morocco Weather: Extreme Heat and “Chergui” Winds Expected Today

The General Directorate of Meteorology forecasts hot to very hot weather this Tuesday, with “Chergui” winds affecting the northern and central plains, the phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the Souss region, the southeast, and inland areas of the southern provinces.
Low clouds are expected in the morning and at night, locally accompanied by fog patches or very light rain near coastal areas.
The sky will be partly cloudy over the High and Middle Atlas, the southeast, and the Saharan provinces, with moderately strong wind gusts expected over Tangier and the southern provinces.
Minimum temperatures will range from 25°C to 30°C in the Souss, northern and central plains, phosphate and Oulmès plateaus, the southeast, and inland southern provinces; 14°C to 18°C in the High and Middle Atlas and the eastern high plateaus; and 19°C to 24°C elsewhere.
Daytime temperatures will drop in the central Atlantic plains and the northwest of the Saharan provinces but will rise in other regions.
Seas will be calm to slightly choppy in the Mediterranean, and slightly choppy to choppy in the Strait and along the Atlantic coast.
