Presidency of Public Prosecutor’s Office Publishes 2021 Report
At the beginning of this annual report, the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, President of the Public Ministry, El Hassan Daki, states that the Public Ministry, with all its components, is determined to move forward in the consolidation of the rule of law.
This determination concerns, as well, the implementation of the principles of moralization and governance, the preservation of the rights of individuals and groups and the contribution to the protection of individuals and society against crime in all its forms.
All this goes within the framework of an integration, a close coordination and a concerted action between the various institutions and public authorities, in application of the High Royal Orientations aiming at protecting the citizens and guaranteeing their security.
The institution, he added, expects promising prospects to improve its performance and play its role in close coordination with the Supreme Council of the Judiciary (CSPJ), the Ministry of Justice and the various national institutions and public authorities concerned.
In addition to efforts to improve performance in light of the continuing circumstances related to the pandemic, the year 2021 was marked by a strengthening of the climate of cooperation and fruitful coordination between the components of the Judiciary and the Ministry of Justice, and the openness of the legislative institution on the annual reports of the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and their discussion under the provisions of Article 110 of the Organic Law on the SJPC, according to the report.
Given the firm belief in the need to strengthen coordination with the CSPJ on the one hand and the Ministry of Justice on the other in the management of joint affairs in the field of justice, the process of successful cooperation was crowned in 2021 with the publication of a new order framing the joint coordination body in the field of judicial administration.
The year 2021 was also distinguished by the discussion by the Committees on Justice and Legislation in the Parliament of the reports of the Presidency of the Public Ministry from 2017 to 2020 as far as the House of Representatives is concerned, and the 2020 report for the House of Councillors, in a perfect embodiment of cooperation and parallelism of powers.
Among the important events that marked the year 2021 and that the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office accompanied from the beginning, according to the report, are the elections held in the Kingdom in compliance with the set date, reflecting the democratic process advocated by Morocco as an approach to consolidate the rule of law and institutions.
