32nd Arab Summit: work begins in Jeddah, in the presence of HRH Prince Moulay Rachid who represents HM the King

The Moroccan delegation notably includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad, Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the League of Arab States, Ahmed Tazi and Morocco’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Mustapha Mansouri.

The Summit will review efforts to preserve regional security and stability and promote Arab interests, in light of successive changes and escalating crises at the international and regional levels.

This Summit is being held in exceptional circumstances that the region and the world are going through, in particular regional and international crises and conflicts, which place the Arab countries under the obligation to find mechanisms enabling them to meet common challenges and strengthen security. and regional stability.

The Palestinian cause is at the top of the Summit’s agenda. Arab leaders are expected to reaffirm the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Arab nation, and the need to reach a comprehensive and just settlement, based on the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state in borders of June 4, 1967, with Al-Quds East as its capital, while taking into account that the settlement of this issue represents an important entry point for the settlement of other issues related to peace and security.

In addition, the Summit will discuss a number of crises in the Arab region, including the situation in Yemen, Libya, Somalia and Sudan, foreign interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries and terrorism issues.

The Summit’s agenda also includes issues of an economic nature, including the Arab Strategy for Tourism and the « Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033 », and the technical support needed by Member States of the Greater Arab Free Zone. exchange not affiliated to the World Trade Organization, to complement the region’s executive program, as well as the Arab Communication and Information Strategy (Arab Digital Agenda).

In the social track, the Summit will address ways to achieve multidimensional social development, including the Arab Decade of Persons with Disabilities (2023-2033) and the Doha Declaration « Moving Forward Beyond 2030: Towards multidimensional social », as well as the interest in institutions dedicated to the elderly.
