HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, Chairs Religious Evening to Commemorate Eid Al-Mawlid Annabaoui
This religious evening was marked by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and panegyrics of Prophet Sidna Mohammed (PBUH).
On this occasion, minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, Ahmed Toufiq, gave an address on the activities of the Supreme Council of Ulema and local Ulema Councils, before handing over to the Sovereign the report relating to these activities.
In his address, the minister said that Ulemas (Muslim scholars) are aware of the action carried out by HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, to guarantee them the necessary conditions to fulfil their mission, noting that the latest expression of this High Royal solicitude is none other than the support provided, this year, to the supervision of the general secretariat of the Supreme Council of Ulema, the creation of regional Ulema Councils and the increase of members of local Ulema Councils.
Toufiq also underlined that Ulemas are working, through their main task which is communication « Tabligh », to create a good methodology, fruit of their rich experience.
Then, HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, handed the Mohammed VI Award of thought and Islamic Studies (Award of Merit and Honor) to Ibrahim Id Ibrahim from Agadir.
This award is given annually in order to reward outstanding national and international scientific figures and to encourage them to carry out research in Islamic studies, in accordance with the teachings of the noble Shariah, which advocates the search for knowledge and urges to make good use of it.
HM the King was then greeted by Hamza Sabou, from Tangier, who received from the hands of the Sovereign the Mohammed VI International Award of memorization, declamation and exegesis of the Holy Quran.
The Sovereign also presented the Mohammed VI international Award of Quran psalmody with memorization of five Hizbs to Omar Ben Abdelaziz El Baridi, from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, also presented the Mohammed VI Award in Moroccan Calligraphic art (Honorary Award) to Saida El Kayal from Casablanca, and the Mohammed VI Award in Moroccan Calligraphic art (Excellence Award) to Khalid Essbissi from Taroudant.
Afterwards, the Sovereign handed the Mohammed VI Award of Moroccan decorative art on paper (Honorary Award) to Mohcine El Gharnati (Chefchaouen) and the Mohammed VI Award of the Moroccan decorative art on paper (Excellence Award) to Safae Laftih (Casablanca).
HM the King also awarded the Mohammed VI Award of Arabic graphic design [Al Horoufia] (Honorary Award) to Lahcen Farsaoui from Marrakech, and the Mohammed VI Prize for Arabic graphic design [Al Horoufia] (Excellence Award) to Asmae Ait Oukhti from Salé.
On this occasion, HM the King was greeted by the jury of the Mohammed VI Award of thought and Islamic studies: professors Mohamed Yssef, Mohamed Kettani, Mustapha Benhamza, Idriss Khalifa, Chahid El Bouchikhi, Ahmed Chaouki Binebine, Abdelhamid El Alami, Driss Ben Daouia, Mohamed Jamil Moubarak, Khadija Abou Zaid, Farida Zemrou and Abdelaziz Oulasri.
The religious ceremony was attended by the head of government, the speakers of the two Houses of the parliament, advisors to HM the King, members of government, presidents of constitutional bodies, senior officers of the Royal Armed Forces, members of the Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to Rabat, as well as by several Ulemas and other civil and military personalities.
The celebration of this religious evening by HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, is in line with the tradition observed by His illustrious ancestors who have constantly taken care to commemorate the anniversary of the coming to the World of the Messenger of Mercy, their ancestor the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, may Peace and Prayer be upon him.
An anniversary that marks the blossoming of the lights of guidance for Humanity, thanks to the message carried by the Seal of the Prophets, to spread the high virtues and values of justice and recommend good deeds so that all humans live in peace and understanding.
