Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Launches Social Assistance Campaign for Inhabitants of Al-Quds
During this campaign, which required a budget of 80,000 dollars, food rations sufficient for the entire holy month were distributed to 400 disadvantaged families in Al-Quds and another 100 families of orphans sponsored by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency.
On this occasion, the Agency announced a special program for the benefit of more than 200 people with special needs, within the framework of a charitable « iftar » to be held next week and during which aid will be distributed to members of this category.
On the other hand, the Agency has supported the Fanous Ramadan program (Ramadan lantern), developed annually by the ‘Burj Alluqluq’ Association. This is a large festive procession that began Monday evening from the walls of the Al-Aqsa Mosque and went through the streets of the old city.
This procession was crowned by the lighting of the lantern in the spaces of the association near « Bab Assahira » and « Bab Alasbat », in the presence of a large audience from all neighborhoods of Al-Quds.
The coordinator of programs and projects of the Agency in Al-Quds, Ismail Al-Ramli, said in at the program’s opening that « we, as inhabitants of Al-Quds and Moroccans, come to support you and the great activities and services you provide in this vast space for the benefit of the residents of the old city of Al-Quds. »
He added that the large crowd that has gathered in this space is a « celebration of the revival of traditional societal culture and an embodiment of what should be our work to preserve the civilizational footprint of the city of Al Quds. »
He further noted that this is the goal expected by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, which is affiliated to the Al-Quds Committee and chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ‘Burj Alluqluq’ Association, Nasser Gaith, praised the role of the Agency, under the personal supervision of HM King Mohammed VI, and its permanent presence among the people and institutions of Al Quds.
He also stressed that the crowds that attended this great celebration to light the « Lantern of Ramadan » reflects the determination of the people of Al Quds to protect its origins and identity.
At the end of March, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency had announced support for cultural animation for the benefit of the most important cultural centers in the city, with special support for community animation activities, as part of its social program for the holy month of Ramadan 1443, at an overall cost of more than 150,000 dollars.
