Upon orders of HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, rogatory prayers (salat al-istisqa) will be performed at 10:00 am on Friday in prayer areas (mousallas) and major mosques throughout the Kingdom’s regions and provinces, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced on Thursday in a statement.

« Following the tradition of His revered ancestor the Prophet Sidna Mohammed, may peace and blessings be upon him, whenever rainfall is scarce, HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, may God glorify Him, has decided that rogatory prayers be performed to implore the Almighty to spread His beneficent rains over the earth as a sign of mercy for His creatures in accordance with the verse of the Holy Quran: +He is the One Who sends down rain after people have given up hope, spreading out His mercy+, » said the statement.

« In compliance with the Order of His Majesty the King, rogatory prayers will be performed on Friday 17 Jumada I 1445 H, corresponding to December 1, 2023, at 10:00 am in prayer areas (mousallas) and major mosques throughout the Kingdom’s regions and provinces,” the same source added.
