The participants in the 91st session of the Organization’s General Assembly being held in the Austrian capital, representing 196 member countries, renewed their trust in the Kingdom and its security institutions, through entrusting it with the hosting of the 93rd session of the Interpol General Assembly.
The General Assembly, Interpol’s highest decision-making body, meets regularly with the heads of law enforcement agencies and organizations from member countries, to assess global security challenges and emerging crime trends, and to consider ways of addressing them.
Speaking after the vote in favor of the Moroccan bid, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi, expressed the Kingdom of Morocco’s thanks to all those who voted in favor of Marrakech hosting this global event.
He also emphasized Morocco’s commitment to consolidating international efforts to combat terrorism and the various forms of cross-border crime.
Hammouchi also emphasized that the Kingdom of Morocco and its national security services are fully prepared to host this renowned security forum in the best possible conditions, stressing that Morocco constantly supports Interpol and its member countries in their efforts to promote global security and stability.
During the presentation of the Moroccan bid, a video was screened outlining the progress being made in the Kingdom, under the wise leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, may God glorify Him.
The video highlights the various facets of modernization and development undergone by the Moroccan security services, enabling them to occupy a pioneering position in the field of international security cooperation.
The choice of Morocco to host this major event also reflects the aura and image enjoyed by the Kingdom in its regional and international environment, thanks to the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, as well as the credibility and great trust in Moroccan security institutions, well-known for having accumulated significant experience and expertise in the fight against terrorism and organized crime.
