Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum Welcomes Role of HM the King, Chairman of Al-Quds Committee, in Supporting Palestinian Cause

The Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum welcomed, Wednesday in Marrakech, the role of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in supporting the Palestinian cause.

   In the Joint Declaration issued by the Sixth Session of the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum at the Ministerial Level, Arab and Russian Foreign Ministers praised the role of HM King Mohammed VI in supporting the struggle of the Jerusalemites, through concrete projects carried out by Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, the operational arm of the Al-Quds Committee.

   In addition, the Forum’s Joint Declaration hailed a number of actions undertaken by the Kingdom as part of the implementation of the foreign policy outlined by His Majesty the King.

   With regard to Morocco’s role in the Libyan issue, the Forum reaffirmed the importance of the Skhirat Agreement to settle the Libyan crisis, emphasized its commitment to the unity and sovereignty of the State of Libya and its territorial integrity, and rejected interference in its internal affairs.

   The Forum emphasized the principle of Libyan ownership of the political process, and committed to the Libyan Political Agreement signed in Skhirat in 2015.

   Regarding Morocco’s leadership in countering terrorism, the Russian-Arab Cooperation Forum welcomed the hosting of the Kingdom of the 93rd session of the General Assembly of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) in Marrakech in 2025, as well as the hosting of the United Nations Office of Counter-Terrorism.

   It also valued the kingdom’s role and efforts during the chairmanship of the Global Counter-Terrorism Forum (2021-2023).

   In addition, the Forum welcomed the outcomes of the annual meetings of the World bank Group and the International Monetary Fund, which were held in Marrakech on October 9-15, 2023, especially those related to financing climate activities and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

   Finally, the Arab and Russian Foreign ministers welcomed the choice of the Kingdom of Morocco to host the 2030 Football World Cup.
