It also reflects the confidence that Morocco enjoys in the international community in this field and the importance of its commitment to promoting and respecting action in favor of human rights.

The Arab Observatory for Human Rights hailed « the Kingdom’s record and the interest it takes in human rights and freedoms. »

It also highlighted « the major developments in the field of drafting national legislation, the importance Morocco attaches to the national institutions involved in strengthening the national human rights system, particularly those related to legislation, institutions, and initiatives that have helped consolidate the national experience based on the humanitarian approach, and have deepened the Kingdom’s commitment to human rights. »

It noted that this election reflects the major roles played by the Kingdom at home and abroad in supporting and promoting human rights and humanitarian principles.

It expressed its conviction that Morocco will be a strong voice to defend human rights issues in Arab countries at the United Nations and will play its part in promoting and protecting human rights through its presence as President of the Council, in addition to strengthening efforts for cooperation and constructive dialogue and consolidating partnerships between countries to contribute to enriching its action.

Morocco has a solid experience in improving the human rights system at all levels, drawing its leadership from the Kingdom’s cultural heritage, its constitution, which guarantees freedoms for all, and its legislative system, which promotes the principles of justice, equality, tolerance, and respect for the rights of all, the Observatory emphasized.
