It is now official, Houcine Ammouta is the new coach of Al Jazira, the Emirati club announced on social media on Monday, July 8th.
Al Jazira club posted a photo on its X account, indicating that the Moroccan coach has signed with the club until 2026. In this new role, the former FUS Rabat coach has already started working and requested that Jordanian forward Yazan Al-Naimat be part of the team he will be coaching.
Ammouta has great faith in Al-Naimat’s offensive capabilities after supervising him during his recent tenure with the Jordanian national team, where he played a significant role in leading his country to the final of the 2023 Asian Cup and dominated the group in the second round of the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers.
To recall, Ammouta recently left the Jordanian team. The Moroccan was in negotiations with AS FAR, but Al Jazira’s offer seemed more attractive to him.
Ammouta achieved a historic feat with the Jordanian national team by securing second place in the 2023 Asian Cup, in addition to qualifying for the decisive round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers and topping their group.
